Youth education programs

EUC Syd is one of the largest educational institutions in Southern Jutland. At EUC Syd in Haderslev, you can study both HTX and a variety of vocational education programs.

HTX - The Technical Gymnasium

HTX is a three-year education that gives you access to a wide range of higher education programs. Your education will be an exciting combination of theory and practice, where you will have ample opportunity to experience the world that awaits you upon completion.

Studying at HTX is both fun and educational, where curiosity and the ability to see the world from many different perspectives are central. The core of the teaching consists of scientific, technical, and technological subjects – and it is largely "learning by doing" that will characterize your time at HTX.

The teaching is at a high academic level and is spiced up with experiments in laboratories, practical work in workshops, exciting projects, and study trips.

EUC Syd Haderslev offers the following vocational education programs:

• Electrician
• Sewer Master

HHX

The HHX program is a 3-year upper secondary education where you receive instruction in commonly known subjects such as social studies, Danish, and English, as well as new subjects that focus on business economics, marketing, and legal matters.

With an HHX diploma, you obtain a versatile and modern youth education with a sea of opportunities for further education.

EUD Business

EUD Business is a practical education aimed at a profession. The program alternates between classroom instruction and internships at a company. At school, you learn techniques and processes related to the field or craft you choose.

During the program, you gain the professional knowledge needed to work in the real world while also interning at a company where you can try things out yourself.

EUX Business

EUX Business is a vocational education where you combine upper secondary education with vocational skills and internships. With an EUX Business diploma, you receive both a journeyman's certificate and a vocational upper secondary diploma.

EUS

Have you already completed an upper secondary education but dream of becoming an apprentice in the business world? Then an EUS might be for you.

An EUS consists of a shortened basic course in the EUD program. For five weeks, you receive instruction in subjects targeted towards a career path in office, trade, or retail. Once you have completed your EUS, you are ready to start an apprenticeship with a company.

At Haderslev Katedralskole - commonly known as HAKA - you can study STX, HF, HF-Sport+, and SOSU.

STX

It takes 3 years to become a student in the STX program. The purpose of the education is to prepare you for higher education. STX has a broad academic scope with clear collaboration across subjects. This way, you achieve a wide-ranging academic insight and become familiar with many different working methods. HAKA offers several different study lines within:

• Language and Culture
• Social Sciences
• Natural Sciences
• Arts

HF

HF is the 2-year youth education for those who want a broad, versatile knowledge. You learn different working methods and combine theory and practice in all subjects.

An HF diploma with a standard subject package provides access to academy profession and professional bachelor's programs, i.e., short and medium-length higher education programs.

You will engage with subjects in the areas of: natural sciences, social sciences, languages, sports, and artistic subjects.

SOSU

SOSU stands for Social and Health. It is a vocational education that trains you to work with people who need support and care. You can choose between three different educational paths:

• Social and health helper
• Social and health assistant
• Pedagogical assistant

The education as a social and health assistant can also be taken as EUX Welfare, so you obtain both a vocational education and a health-related upper secondary diploma.

SOSU stands for Social and Health. It is a vocational education that trains you to work with people who need support and care. You can choose between three different educational paths:

• Social and health helper
• Social and health assistant
• Pedagogical assistant

The education as a social and health assistant can also be taken as EUX Welfare, so you get both a vocational education and a health-related high school diploma.

HF and VUC at IBC are for those who have ambitions to move forward in life. Here, you get the opportunity to strengthen your skills and open doors to new possibilities.

With an HF education, you gain access to a wide range of higher education programs. You strengthen your academic skills and get the tools to handle both academic challenges and everyday demands.

VUC gives you the opportunity to complete or improve your 9th or 10th grade final exam. Whether you need to improve your skills for the job market or want to solidify the foundation for further education, we are ready to help you.

The Preparatory Basic Education (FGU) is aimed at those who:

• are young and under 25 years old
• have not completed or are not currently enrolled in a youth education program
• are not employed

At FGU in Haderslev, you can improve your skills in the following areas:

• Construction, Housing, and Landscaping
• Industry
• Communication and Media
• Care and Health
• Food and Nutrition

FGU accommodates various individual competencies and aims to provide each student with knowledge, skills, clarification, and motivation to complete a youth education program or alternatively to achieve unskilled employment.

FGU is the main pathway for young people up to 25 years old who need a comprehensive educational offer after primary school to move forward. Common to the students is that they need an alternative route to enter education or employment. Some need to raise their academic level to meet the admission requirements for a youth education program. Others need to develop personally or socially.
